Employment Verification

Verification of employment is conducted by telephone, fax, automated system or any other means required by the source. Human Resources is the primary contact for employment verification so that factual information is obtained. Information reported will include, when made available by the previous employer, but may not be limited to; dates, any breaks in the employment dates, position, salary, reason for leaving, full time / part time, supervisor, and eligibility for rehire. With careful analysis of the information reported from the source, CS professionals will attempt to identify any discrepancies, gaps and undisclosed employment history. Our use of proprietary investigative methodology to locate and contact companies that are out of business, defunct or otherwise difficult to contact provides unparalleled value. All discrepant information will be obtained in writing from the source.

Certain federal and/or state laws carry strict verification requirements for specific industries. One example is the United States Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations requiring special questions to be asked of DOT regulated employers. Education Verification

Verification of education is conducted by telephone, fax, automated system or other means as determined by the institution. Standard verification is of the highest degree claimed by the candidate, but can be customized to meet your specific requirements. Information reported will include, when made available by the school, but may not be limited to; dates of attendance, course of study, degree, and graduation date. CS will always attempt to make verification on institutions that are defunct or closed. Additionally, if the candidate claims graduation and the registrar claims otherwise we will re-verify through the alumni office. All discrepant information will be obtained in writing from the source.

Reference Interview

Reference interviews can be conducted with managers, supervisors and work reference.

Professional License Verification

Verification of professional license, credentials or certification is conducted at the primary source by telephone, fax, automated system or other means as required by the reporting source. Information reported will include, when made available by the institution, but may not be limited to; type of license, the date obtained, expiration date, status, and any disciplinary action available. All discrepant information will be obtained in writing from the source.

Military Verification

Corporate Screening does not recommend verifying military records through the Federal Government’s Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Verification through OPM takes 3 to six months if it is received at all. A more effective method for employment pre employment purposes is to have the applicant add all military experience under the employment heading in the job application. Be certain that the applicant includes ranking officer names, address, telephone numbers etc.
